Driving New Quality Productivity with Managerial Psychology
In his "Wealth of Nations", Adam Smith of the Enlightenment period introduced the "economic man", which assumes that human beings think and act in a goal-oriented and rational manner, that they are motivated by economic incentives and that their only goal is to try to maximise material gain. In the beginning of the 21st century, the Hawthorne experiments led by Mayo demonstrated that the factors influencing human motivation to produce were not just material conditions, but also social and psychological factors, i.e. the 'social man'.
In the VUCA era, with the rise of individual values and the focus on organisational empowerment, it has become even more important to stimulate employees' creativity and tap into their potential abilities. All human behaviour is influenced by psychological factors. Managerial psychology is about exploring the deep psychological paths and psychological states of a person to motivate employees, improve organisational performance, enhance leadership, and establish a harmonious organisational climate so that organisational goals can be achieved efficiently.
Peter Drucker, the father of modern management, stated that "the greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence itself. It is to act with yesterday’s logic." Our Managerial Psychology (MPSY) programme aims to use scientific methodology to dig deeper into the underlying logic of management, i.e. human motivation and behaviour, to reinvent management thinking and innovate management models.

The MPSY programme explores individual psychology, group psychology, leadership psychology and organisational psychology to explore issues such as cognitive systems, leadership behaviour, management decisions, team conflict and cross-cultural management, organisational change and innovation, and to innovate scientific management methods to maximise human motivation and creativity, as well as to enhance organisational cohesion.
